Ciclón Yaku – Fenómeno que afecta a Perú y Ecuador. El Ciclón Yaku está ocasionando una serie de eventos como nieve, granizadas, calentamiento de las aguas de mar, incrementos de caudales en los ríos además de otros cambios climatológicos.
Este Ciclón es un fenómeno de características tropicales no organizado según el Senamhi (Servicio Nacional de Hidrología y Metereología) de Perú .
Según datos del Senamhi este ciclón se presenta en la costa norte y el centro de Perú.

Este sistema está asociado al calentamiento de la temperatura superficial del mar, como así también a la segunda banda de la Zona de Convergencia Intertropical.
También se indicó que Yaku influye en las lluvias extremas en el norte de Perú en Tumbes, Piura y Lambayeque.
Así mismo se espera que los próximos días contribuya la intensificación de las lluvias en Libertad, Lima y Áncash.
Principalmente en las cuencas medias de la vertiente del pacífico, para así generar incremento de caudales y activación de quebradas.
Esta ciclón Yaku se formó a fines de febrero y hasta la fecha se están realizando monitoreos de su recorrido y sus sistema.

Se tiene conocimiento que este ciclón es el primero que aparece en las costas peruanas.
Según el especialista Abraham Levy “ Cuando el mar o el océano en general alcanza temperaturas de 27 o 28 grados produce estas tormentas masivas”.
“Esto es propio de aguas tropicales y frente a la costa peruana la ocurrencia se da por el niño o niño costero o un calentamiento significativo del mar”
“Las condiciones que se viven hoy en el norte son propias del Niño, el mar está muy caliente y eso produce las precipitaciones que hemos estado observando en las últimas 24 y 48 horas”, según Levi.
También indicó que al haber llegado esas agua cálidas, amenaza con lluvias en las zonas más vulnerables de Perú.
Estas zonas son de Tumbes, Piura y Lambayeque.
Así mismo, Levy descartó la posibilidad de que Yaku desate un huracán, sólo se prevee que las tormentas pueden darse hasta mediados de marzo.
