NASA and Boeing design a new, more sustainable plane. With all the advances in ecology and the interest of companies in safeguarding and protecting the environment, flight technology is not falling behind.

To help with more ecological flights, there NASA y Boeing come together to work together on a project to create a more sustainable flight.

They announced this initiative last month. Where NASA announced that over 7 years it will give a total of 425 million dollars to the company Boeing Co for the project Sustainable Flight Demonstrator

While the investors and partners of the company Boeing Co will give the rest of the money, which is estimated to be around 725 million dollars.

The Project

The idea of the project is to help build commercial aircraft that are more efficient in terms of fuel consumption, and present more benefits for the average aircraft.

In addition to being at an affordable price that allows it to be implemented in flights all over the world and all passengers benefit.

It is expected that the project will be successful, the first planes will be available and flying to 2030.

For 2028 it is estimated that the first test flight of the experimental aircraft will be carried out.

This project is being developed exclusively for single-pan aircraft. This is what I want to say, which are those planes that do not have a long range, and do not allow transcontinental or transatlantic flights.

Therefore, there are commercial aircraft most used within countries, as for example, a national flight from Miami to Atlanta.

These planes represent more than 50% of flights around the world. For what generates more than a multitude of emotions in the aviation sector throughout the world.

This initiative is expected to work in the future with the North American government represented by Biden, which is developing a goal of 0 carbon emissions for airlines by 2050.

With this project, it is estimated that there is a reduction of the 30% in fuel consumption and emissions, in comparison with the planes that are currently flying and are considered more efficient.

And it falls to the ground there, it is hoped that with this project more green technologies will be implemented in aviation.

Future

With all that we have been experiencing, despite the economic circumstances of countries around the world, it is also estimated that there will be an increase in commercial flights with single-country aircraft of more than 40 thousand, by 2035 and 2050.

The design of the aircraft will generate the greatest impact, as in the model presented, it can be seen that the wings will be thinner and wider, but will have a diagonal point that will help them to stabilize, and therefore end up create less drag, thus generating less fuel burning.

This benefit of simply modifying the wings of the aircraft has been studied for a long time, but it has not been possible to carry it out, because it is a challenge, and time and technological advances have been needed to obtain construction materials to generate stability what the plane needs.

NASA and Boeing design a new, more sustainable plane

It was because of this that the company Boeing and NASA joined together, these great ones were able to take on more risks and managed to develop the technology much faster, which each one was responsible for.

It is important to highlight that this idea of the plane with the thinnest wings is what they have thought about, but it could be that it is not definitive, but is still evaluating the balance, stability, weight, and that in the end, it does not generate a I risk it for passengers.

There is still a long way to go to validate this technology.

This project is quite ambitious, but we are all hoping that NASA will actually achieve it.

If we fly to the Moon, you can generate technology to fly without generating carbon emotions for 2050.
